Creative Design Associate

Voce (Vo-chay) is seeking a creative professional to help manage the brand through the design and creation of both print and online materials, including marketing collateral, website content and business development presentations. In this role, our ideal candidate would also assist Voce account teams with the branding of outbound client materials, including reports, proposals, plans, and related media.

The Creative Services Associate will report to Voce’s VP of Operations, and be expected to work closely with Voce’s IT and web development teams. This position will be based in Voce’s Silicon Valley office with the potential for future part-time duties in its San Francisco office.  Salary is DOE.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Design and produce compelling business marketing materials, including capability one-sheets, corporate backgrounders, client case studies, and other outbound marketing materials.
  • Collaborate with business development teams on presentations and proposals; also drive creative production and collateral fulfillment needs for these teams.
  • Oversee the branding of various Voce web properties, including the corporate website, corporate intranet, and related partner projects; also own the ongoing content/copy needs for these properties.
  • Assist account teams with the visual design of client materials, including reports, proposals, plans, and related media (graphics, photography, illustrations, etc); also, act as a quality control for Voce branded external and internal communications materials.
  • Assist with light media creation, including audio and video production, editing and distribution work.
  • Liaise as needed with agency partners.

Skills & Experience:

  • Highly proficient with Adobe Creative Suites (particularly InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator).
  • Solid understanding of presentation programs like Microsoft PowerPoint and Apple Keynote.
  • Ability to visualize abstract concepts and data for a general audience.
  • Experience with the entire print preparation and production process is required.
  • Understanding of and experience with information design & data visualization
  • A solid understanding of web-ready vs print-ready image and asset production.
  • Previous experience with CMS platforms (particularly WordPress), as well as CSS/HTML programming, Flash development and video/audio post-production is advantageous.
  • Must have an ability to work well with teams under pressure and deadlines.
  • Strong writing and communications skills are required.

Associate Client Executive

Silicon Valley-based PR and influencer marketing firm Voce Communications (Vo-chay) is currently seeking an Associate Client Executive. This position works to ensure high-quality deliverables within deadline, responsible for preparing clip reports, editorial calendars, activity reports, press and tradeshow matrixes, and press briefing documents. In addition, they play a pivotal role in contributing to media relations, analyst relations, and competitive analysis and trend tracking by engaging in media/analyst relations and in conducting research.

Associate Client Executives are well versed in all aspects of the account, both in day-to-day terms and in a broader, industry sense. This position requires 6-12 months experience in public relations. A very important position within Voce Communications, the Associate Client Executive requires strong project management and interpersonal skills. A high-tech, public relations, or journalism educational background is ideal. Computer literacy is required. Enterprise technology experience and background in storage networking a plus.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage editorial calendars, monthly activity reports, speaker and trade show matrixes on behalf of the team.
  • Participate in internal and external client team meetings and uses this forum to establish workflow, provide project and activity updates, and communicate accurate deadlines.
  • Able to write initial drafts and ultimately complete such assignments as:  pitch letters, speaking abstracts, activity reports, status reports, media confirmation letters, biographies, memos, and potentially press releases.
  • Able to write concise, resourceful e-mails to clients and the media that demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the clients’ market and business.
  • Research and identify the appropriate media and analyst contacts for specific editorial opportunities and media lists.
  • Compile regular clip analysis reports that demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the client’s business, product, competitors and market.
  • Assist in the creation of briefing books including researching and identifying the editorial focus of each publication, writer/analyst background and beat information, as well as collecting press coverage to effectively prepare clients for trade shows and press tours.
  • Research and assist in securing logistics for press tours and events.
  • Provide support to the client executives and senior client executives on the execution of all day-to-day client work.
  • Consistently demonstrates attention to detail and quality assurance when conducting assignments.

Internship Opportunities with Voce

Voce’s mission of building superior communications counselors expands beyond full time employees.  Voce is committed to providing college students and recent graduates with the skills and expertise necessary to become excellent strategic counselors.  At Voce, interns are members of account teams and their day-in and day-out tasks range from media relations and press material development to social media and metrics analysis to learning, first-hand, about client interaction and strategic planning.

As a Voce intern, you’ll get a real taste of what it means to be a communications consultant.  Voce wants our interns to not only gain all of the skills necessary to land their first entry-level communications role, but to really be successful, confident public relations professionals.

The internship in our Florida and Sunnyvale, CA offices will be focused on:

  • Provide support to Associate Client Executives and Client Executives on the execution of all day-to-day client work.
  • Consistently demonstrates attention to detail and quality assurance when conducting these assignments.
  • Able to write initial drafts and ultimately complete assignments such as competitive analysis, and analysis of client campaign metrics.
  • An aptitude for multi-tasking all-day (every day).
  • Good writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to compile daily/weekly/quarterly reports.
  • Deadline driven.
  • Ability to work within a team.

Web/Social Media Skills:

  • Must have a basic understanding of lightweight HTML
  • Experience with web publishing tools (ideally blogs)
  • Experience with popular social media services, including WordPress, YouTube, Flickr, Facebook, and Twitter
  • Experience with Google Docs
  • Experience managing web communities, especially comment moderation.
  • A strong understanding of basic web search tools and services (e.g., Google Blog search)
  • An ability to quickly identify information and publish on-the-fly to Voce’s reporting tool
