Project Manager (Winter Haven, FL) / Senior Client Executive (Bay Area, CA) / Supervisor (Bay Area, CA) / Client Executive (Bay Area, CA)

Project Manager

Voce’s Platforms team is looking for a project manager who will bring their passion for organization, teamwork, customer service and of course web apps to a growing team of passionate designers and developers. You will be a key component in the team’s vision of creating beautifully simple and efficient web platforms for some of the largest brands in the world.

The perfect candidate for this position has an obsession with putting people first, keeping things organized and delivering results. People like working with you because you are down to earth, driven and most of all you genuinely care. You are fired up by the idea of being a part of a process where projects are rarely the same. You don’t work with web apps because they’re popular, or because it’s a job. You do it because it’s a passion.

Know that you’re applying to work with a team that created a bacon website as a Christmas present for a team member. When the site unexpectedly started pulling hundreds of thousands of visitors, we iterated improvements to make the process of spreading bacon even easier. There may not be rhyme or reason to why we create some of the things, but we do it because we love it.

You will oversee projects for some of the biggest brands in media, entertainment, sports, and technology. You will be expected to keep projects on agreed upon timelines, manage scope as well as budgets, protect team members from changing directives and rather provide cover for a team to deliver results. You understand the fine art of coordination and involving the right team members at the right time. You will be working for one of the top WordPress development groups in the country and while we don’t require past development experience with WordPress, you’ll need an open mind to building solutions within this platform. You will be working on task-oriented development projects with written specifications, deliverables, acceptance criteria as well as deadlines.

You must have…

  • Bachelor’s degree or a great story why you don’t.
  • 2+ years experience in account management. This could be experience on an internal team or agency.
  • Ability to effectively work with team members located within the same office as well as working remotely.
  • An understanding of software development and client management.
  • The ability to comfortably manage multiple projects at any given time.
  • Proven methods for managing workload across multiple projects including deliverables, priority, timing and budget.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.

It’s great if you have…

  • WordPress experience. What’s that you say? You currently manage a WordPress blog? Outstanding.

You will…

  • Work in a dynamic development environment with an agile development focus.
  • Work within the WordPress platform to deliver custom solutions.
  • Work on several projects at once. You must be comfortable balancing and assigning priorities.
  • Manage project budgets and project future revenues.
  • Manage timelines.
  • Manage scope in a way where all involved feel as if the best product is being delivered in the most efficient way possible.
  • Create custom applications for some of the largest media, entertainment and technology companies in the world.
  • Oversee existing applications through development iterations as well as bug reports and fixes.
  • Work with developers and user experience designers to scope and build solutions that meet and exceed client expectations.
  • Work with the team to deliver tested solutions on time.
  • Do what it takes to see things through, knowing that might mean additional time and the sometimes less than glamorous task.
  • Understand that there is more than one way to solve any problem.

Think you have what it takes? Please e-mail jobs@voceconnect.com with your story/resume/portfolio (URLs or PDFs only, please). We’d love to hear it.
