Voce Communications Scoops Up Top Web Development Team, Forms “Voce Connect”

Voce Connect

Okay, so here’s the deal: we have some news to share and it captures not only what we’ve been quietly up to for nearly a year now, but it’s also, I think, telling of where we’re going with our business.

First off, we’ve hired the entire cnp_studio team, a group of web developers that specialize in social media design and development work.

For several years now, we’ve been working in partnership with the cnp team on a variety of assignments ranging from corporate blogs and community building projects, to newsrooms, microsites, social apps, and the like. Our businesses and our teams were so closely intertwined, it was just, you know, getting weird. Our team would call them on the weekends and sleep on their couches. And their team would come over and take food out of our fridge.

But seriously, through our partnership and experience working together we’ve learned that to be truly successful with communications on the web, you have to blend and balance great strategies, with great content and great technology, and we think this move allows us to further explore that combination. And so it’s with that in mind that we’re sharing a second piece of news today:

We’ve formed a combined service team within Voce that’s now called “Voce Connect.”

Voce Connect will simply represent Voce’s long-provided social media marketing services with the, well, “formal” addition now of a web development team. If you click over to this Press Page, we have more materials, including a Q&A, that captures why we’re doing this and the value we believe it offers our clients.

Net-net: We know this combination works. Our clients do too. Which takes me to our third and final piece of news:

We’ve been quietly winning a mix of social media marketing and web development projects with some of the biggest consumer and business brands in the world.

And over the next several weeks, we’ll be sharing more case examples of what we’ve been doing.

A few of our recent wins, include Bell Sports, CBS Radio, Comcast, Disney, Federated Media, Honeywell, Newsweek, Platinum Games, Symantec, Turner, and Webtrends.

These wins are in addition to the ongoing social media marketing and development programs Voce manages for clients like eBay, Fujitsu, Intel, Logitech, NetApp, PlayStation, VeriSign, and Yahoo!, among others. We’re lucky to be working with these brands and the great people behind them. And you can see what they have to say about working with us at www.vocecommunications.com.

Needless to say the entire Voce team is fired up to be taking this next step, sharing what we can today and knowing that we still have some fun things in the works — so look for more to be shared here shortly.

When people wonder “who owns social media?” I grimace. Then I suggest it takes more than straight PR or interactive/development. It takes both.

Smart move bringing this competency in house. Congrats.
