PlatinumGames Inc is an independent video game developer based in Osaka, Japan. We teamed up with the guys at PlatinumGames Inc in December 2008 to help build their North America Web site.

PlatinumGames understood their North American Web presence could not be a site solely offering one-way communication. The incredible developers on PlatinumGames’ team meant visitors needed a direct line of access to this team. Our Platform Services team worked closely with PlatinumGames to identify these core components and user interfaces as well as content management strategies to support.

The content management solution for the site needed to be simple in execution, but include support for page management, blog posts, as well as media types like video and audio clips. WordPress was selected as the platform for the project and plugins were developed by our team to fill any specific content management needs not immediately filled by WordPress.

In late January 2009, our team launched PlatinumGames web site in advance of their first North American title release, MadWorld, using WordPress.com’s VIP hosting environment. The VIP hosting solution has provided traffic boosts from PlatinumGames content being resurfaced throughout the WordPress.com network and the stability PlatinumGames needs during large project announcements.

As a result of the launch the site has provided a direct line of access to the key members of PlatinumGames’ team and also allowed for quick, easy updates to the site thanks to the WordPress platform.
